Silence is GOlden
As of late I've been truly appreciating silence.
At the YMCA I work with loud/crazy kids. At Crossfit I work at the desk, and if you have ever been to a crossfit gym you know that metal music is playing loud and 24/7. I like metal music and I've grown to like it more since Ian is in a metal band.

But oh man, sometimes I just want all the noise to stop.
I want to hear myself breathe.
The other day I was sitting in my sunroom. It was a breezy, warm and sunny fall day. It was perfect. I didn't have to go to crossfit until 4pm.
The day was mine.

As I sat in my sunroom I started to appreciate silence. It wasn't perfectly quiet. There were birds chirping in the trees. I could hear someone mowing their lawn down the street, which is a peaceful sound if heard at a distance. Casual conversations were being had a couple backyards over. Above all, I could hear my wristwatch ticking.
I never realized how quiet it had to be for me to hear it.
I never realized how quiet it had to be for me to hear it.
I'm grateful for the peace and quiet I get here and there.
I also give credit to do those who have kids. I don't know how you do it.

Either way we are always surrounded by noise and chaos. We drive with music blasting in our cars. We keep the television on.
I don' t know why we do it.
I do know one thing, our minds and souls need peace.
When do you get your quiet?
I don' t know why we do it.
I do know one thing, our minds and souls need peace.
When do you get your quiet?
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
